A public hearing
on June 7, 2004 at 6:45 P.M. is scheduled for the purpose of considering
the proposed additional .05 mills to be levied on the 2004 tax roll
for the operation of the City of Burton Downtown Development Authority.
Where is Downtown
Burton? Seems like another "blue sky" project that will
just raise property taxes.
Also, a proposed
additional .18 mills to be levied on the 2004 tax roll for general
fund operating purposes will be considered on June 7, 2004.
The city of
Burton is also expecting a 15% increase in the cost of self insured
employee health care costs and that the the employee's concession
of 5% of their wages for health case will not be sufficient to cover
the additional expense.
